ABOUT THE ARTIST
My name is Mel Jones, an American artist based near the foot of the Snowy Range Mountains in the picturesque town of Laramie, Wyoming.I paint in my flowing, abstract-realism style, which has many layers of vibrant colors and textures in nature. I use a variety of media when painting but my main tools are charcoal, acrylics, alcohol ink, and oil paint. My brushstrokes are loose and painterly evoking movement, light, and shadow.
My Story
MJones Designs began as a freelance side hustle for artist Melonie Jones while she was still in college studying journalism and art. She created various posters, brochures, invitations, and photography for friends and family to supplement her full-time job as a graphic designer. After 20+ years, Mel retired from the industry and picked up her brushes again to squish paint around on canvas. She revived her business and rebranded it to reflect her new passion, creating artwork to enhance a customer’s space.
